  6. This is the VectorWorks 8.0.1 release packaged as an updater application which
  7. will transform the VectorWorks 8.0.0 installer into a VectorWorks 8.0.1 installer.
  8. Please read the instructions below before installing.

  10. The 8.0.1 release contains many fixes for problems discovered by Diehl
  11. Graphsoft, our beta testers, and our users. These fixes have been thoroughly
  12. tested and we are confident that the 8.0.1 product is more stable, reliable, and
  13. functional than 8.0.0. We recommend that all users of VectorWorks upgrade to
  14. version 8.0.1.

  16. As with any complex product, it is possible that 8.0.1 introduces changes in
  17. behavior which could affect your work, so when planning the upgrade, please
  18. choose a time which would not prevent you from meeting existing deadlines
  19. should you experience problems. It is also prudent to make sure your
  20. VectorWorks data files are well backed-up when upgrading your software or
  21. operating system.

  32. Back Up First

  35. You should BACK UP your VectorWorks installation before running this update -
  36. especially if you have created custom plug-ins or modified your workspaces.
  37. You will be creating a complete installation of VectorWorks 8.0.1.
  38. Modifications to workspaces or plug-in objects in your 8.0.0 installation
  39. must be manually transferred to the 8.0.1.

  42. Updating Macintosh VectorWorks 8.0.0 to 8.0.1
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------

  45. The VectorWorks 8.0.1 updater works by modifying the original VectorWorks 8
  46. installer. You'll need to copy the original installer from your VectorWorks CD-ROM
  47. and then run the updater as follows:

  49. 1. Copy the file "VectorWorks 8 Installer" from your VectorWorks CD-ROM to
  50. your hard drive.
  51.  
  52. 2. Run the "VectorWorks 8.0.1 Updater" program.
  53.  
  54. 3. The updater will search for installers to be updated. Choose the copy that
  55. you just made on your hard drive.

  57. 4. The updater will convert the installer into a VectorWorks 8.0.1 installer.

  59. 5. Quit the updater.

  61. 6. Run the newly updated "VectorWorks 8.0.1 Installer" program.
